Parents: Most parents do not have a clear or accurate picture about the money districts and schools receive each year. They are often misinformed about issues such as salaries and equitable distribution of money to schools, and at the same time are consistently asked to support schools financially through donations, local property taxes and bond measures. The charts on the California School Finance Center educate parents about how well their own schools are doing with raising student academic achievement given the money they receive and compare those results to similar school districts across the state so that they can make informed decisions in their local communities.
